A recent Pearson survey of nearly 2,000 college faculty shows that just about all college professors use social media and that most of them even use it to teach! • 91% of college faculty engage in social media as part of work; 47% of employees in other industries do

• 80% of faculty use social media for some aspect of a course they are teaching

• More than 40% of faculty have required students to read or view social media as part of an assignment

• 30% of faculty have posted content for students to view or read outside of class

• 20% of faculty have assigned students to comment on or post to social media sites

• The most popular social networks that are most popular among college teachers, both professionally and personally, are Facebook,YouTube, and LinkedIn
